Summer Reading Log

I just made a simple reading log for Gracie and thought I would share it with you!

I made it as simple as can be (I think kids like simple)! I just used printer paper and a permanent marker.

I numbered each line and left enough space for her to write the name of the book that she read.

I added a little start at the end to show that it is prize time! I thought I would give her a little something at the end for motivation. I am thinking a new book (they have them really cheap at the Goodwill) or a trip to her favorite park-something cheap and fun is a great reward! Smile

I made sure to include her name to make it special.

I also had to give her her own clipboard, just like her Momma! Smile

Clipboard make everything more fun, right?

Well, she is one happy girl!

Now, let’s get reading!! (She is really into Dr. Seuss lately!)

We are at the point of deciding what to do with our walls in the new living and dining room.

As the original plank boards are going back up, I’m having second thoughts about them!

Clean and neat. Straight and spiffy.

Ours aren’t like that. Our boards are so old and uneven, there is no way to get a clear line of distinction between each one. Ours would look more like this:

Drywall is whispering in my ear, tempting me with it’s promise of a smooth clean surface and illusion of perfection.

But our old sweet battered farmhouse is whispering in the other ear, begging for authenticity and freedom to be imperfect.

Smoothie-Pop

Last week, I shared how I made smoothies and this week and I wanted to share how I make smoothie-pops! I just made up that name but basically, I make popsicles with leftover smoothie.
