Company Table

Last night we had company, which means a more dressed up table than our average evening at home.
This post proves you can use ANYTHING to dress up a table. Look what is around you and throw it together for a one of a kind centerpiece. An upside down cake stand provides a good base.

Cut greens from just outside the door fill in nicely, and old votive candle cups add a special sparkle.

The daily dinner bell tops it off.

And for company dinner, an easy-peasy, everyone-loves-it pork dish:

Pork Chops On Apple Stuffing

5 TB. butter, melted (plus extra for the dish)

4 bone-in pork chops, 1" thick

salt

pepper

1.5 cups seasoned stuffing mix

1 large apple, cut into chunks (leave peel on)

2 stalks celery, chopped

1 small onion, thinly sliced

1.Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Butter a shallow 2-quart casserole pan

2.Trim the fat off pork chops and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper

3.In a large bowl, mix the 5 TBS. butter into the stuffing. Add the apple, celery, and onion

4.Spoon a layer of stuffing onto the bottom of the casserole pan. Stand the chops on edge on the top of the stuffing layer with the fat side up. Spoon the remaining stuffing around, between, and over the chops. Cover and bake for 1.5 hours.
Serves 4. Double or triple the recipe depending on family size. ;)
Recipe taken from "The Best Casserole Cookbook Ever" (and it really is)
